Washington, DC:
"It was KIPP DC Quest Academy’s first year competing in the challenge. Physical activity Champion Damon Kinloch wanted to bring a tradition of being smart, fit, and healthy to the school and this challenge has helped get things moving. The school was able to get students interested in the challenge by creating a competition between classes."

Maryland:
"New Market Elementary School held its 1st Walk & Bike to School Day in several years on October 5th. The NMES PTA invited the Frederick County Sheriff's Department to attend and teach walkers about pedestrian safety.  A representative from a local bike shop taught students about bike safety. About 100 students and a dozen parents participated!"

Washington:
"George C. Marshall Elementary did not let a little rain stop their Walk to School Day celebration. 138 Marshall students, parents, and staff celebrated Walk to School Day on October 5th!"

In Fire Up Your Feet regions, schools are still eligible to win additional cash awards throughout the month, so please keep tracking your activity!
