The 4th Safe Routes to School National Conference Kicks Off in Sacramento!

Since 2007, the biannual National Conference has brought Safe Routes to School champions together to share success stories, learn from one another and chart the course for the future.

Safe Routes to School Advocacy Day a Success – Voices Heard Loud and Clear in the California State Capitol!

California Senate District 7 is home to suburban bedroom communities such as Dublin, Antioch and Walnut Creek. District 7 is also the beneficiary of over $8,000,000 in Safe Routes to School grants, as Senator Mark DeSaulnier, Senate Transportation Committee Chair, learned from advocates Thursday Aug 15. The meeting between DeSaulnier, Safe Routes Partnership Director Deb Hubsmith, and local advocates was one of 65 meetings with legislators and their staff as part of the first Safe Routes to School Advocay Day in California.

Congratulations to Memphis, TN For Passing the Nation's 500th Complete Streets Policy

Christy SmithThis August, Memphis, Tennessee was honored by the National Complete Streets Coalition for adopting the Nation's 500th Complete Streets Policy. The Safe Routes Partnership's Tennessee Network sent a letter to Mayor Wharton of Memphis, congratulating him on the honor and for leading the efforts for Complete Streets in Memphis.
