The Safe Routes Partnership is excited to announce the next round of the Safe Routes to School Launch Program for 2018! Building off a successful 2017 pilot year, we are looking for five new California communities eager to move to a new level of safety and support for students walking and biking to school.

The Safe Routes to School Launch Program is a joint project of the Safe Routes Partnership and UC Berkeley Safe Transportation Research and Education Center (SafeTREC), designed to start and strengthen sustainable Safe Routes to School programs in California communities. In 2017, the intensive program helped five communities develop community-driven Action Plans to overcome current challenges and pursue future Safe Routes to School actions. We want to help you do the same, no matter what stage of SRTS planning you are at!

Interested in applying for the Safe Routes to School Launch Program for your community? Need more information? Read more about 2017 program successes on our blog. Please complete the online interest form, or the printable interest form and submit to Andrew Pasillas at andrew@saferoutespartnership.org to apply. Deadline for early consideration is Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Intake forms will be accepted on ongoing basis until Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
