Inland Empire News: A Roundup of Active Transportation Plans and How to Get Involved

Several cities within Riverside and San Bernardino Counties are developing and updating active transportation plans. Developing plans ensure cities have a blueprint to implement a vision of prioritized projects and policies that support walking and biking for local residents. The plans in development that we are aware of are listed below, along with the status and a link to learn more.  If you are interested in participating on an advisory committee or want to provide input for one of the plans, please email demi@saferoutespartnership.org and she will get you connected. 


Riverside County: 


San Bernardino County: 

  • City of Montclair has hosted three technical advisory committee meetings to receive feedback on priority projects for the development of their Active Transportation Plan.

  • CIty of Rialto’s Active Transportation Plan has been finalized after several technical advisory committee meetings and community engagement events were held to develop policies for the the City’s vision.

  • The City of Ontario convenes a monthly technical advisory committee for feedback on their Active Transportation Master Plan. The planning process has also included a mapping tool for stakeholders to visualize the prioritized projects.

  • The City of Highland and Adelanto are also working with SCAG to develop a Disadvantaged Communities Plans to support active transportation projects.
