In May, the Portland region's Metro Council voted unanimously to refer an important affordable housing bond to the November ballot. This regional ballot measure will create greatly needed affordable homes for low-income families, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities throughout the Metro region.
We need to ensure children and families have a safe, affordable place to call home. This bond will help our region take a big step forward to address the housing crisis. The Safe Routes Partnership supports this bond because families are being displaced, disrupting school progress and taxing budgets and our transportation system as people travel further to and from school. School districts are reporting homeless students at unprecedented rates in the region, and we must come together to address affordable housing needs.
We are proud to join the growing coalition of community members who are taking a stand to support affordable housing in our communities. Will you join us and say Yes for Affordable Housing?
