SKATS, the designated MPO for the Salem-Keizer region, has released the 2019-2043 Regional Transportation Systems Plan (RTSP) for public review. The RTSP is the long-term guide that identifies priority transportation investments and is only updated every four years.  The SKATS Policy Committee met last week to review a draft RTSP, and unanimously voted to release the draft RTSP for public review. A draft RTSP may be found here, and your comments are needed! Visit the interactive website to review proposed transportation projects and add your comments. Join us in asking for increased funding for active transportation and bicycle/pedestrian safety projects.

In addition to the online forum, the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments will hold an open house on May 1st from 4 to 7 PM at Courthouse Square in the Senator Hearing Room at 555 Court St NE, Salem, OR 97301. Public comment is highly encouraged and will be accepted through the public hearing at the next Policy Committee meeting on May 28, 2019. Visit the SKATS Regional Transportation Systems Plan website for all the details, and reach out to Becky if you have questions on how to advocate for your favorite bike/ped safety improvements.
