RESOURCES

The resources below support building a Safe Routes to School program or growing an existing program. Individual schools, school districts, cities, public health agencies, and community organizations are all important in a community’s commitment to Safe Routes to School. ACTION PLANS

Action Plans were developed based on planning and input that took place at the Safe Routes to School Launch Workshop, the Safe Routes Partnership’s assessment of current conditions, community needs, capacity in each community, and a series of conversations with key stakeholders. Recommendations in the Action Plan are based upon the components needed to sustain a successful Safe Routes to School program. The most successful Safe Routes to School initiatives incorporate the Safe Routes to School Six E framework: education, encouragement, engineering, enforcement, evaluation, and equity.
