The Safe Routes Partnership facilitates regional active transportation networks (ATNs) in several locations throughout California with quarterly meetings. These ATNs serve as an informational hub for community based organizations and public agencies to share information on best practices and upcoming funding competitions and to engage in increasing active transportation investments and policy.
In Southern California, the ATNs work closely with the Southern California Association of Governments. They include :
San Bernardino Active Transportation Network, co-chaired by the San Bernardino County Transportation Commission
Riverside Active Transportation Network, co-chaired by Riverside University Health Systems
Orange County Active Transportation Network, co-led by the Alliance for Healthy Orange County
To participate in any of these networks, please contact demi@saferoutespartnership.org.
In Northern California:
The San Francisco Bay Area Active Transportation Network is working to educate Metropolitan Transportation Commissioners on the region’s active transportation programs.
The Safe Routes Partnership will be creating an ATN for the Central Valley, focusing on the counties of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Fresno.
To join either of these networks, please contact marty@saferoutespartnership.org.
