Riverside County ATN tours City of Perris

The September meeting of the Riverside County Active Transportation Network (ATN) toured new bike facilties and community gardens to showcase their efforts for healthier communities. The ATN group included 20 participants who had an opportunity to ride electric bikes through the bike lanes of Perris. City staff explained the newest vegetable garden features and how residents particpated in planning of the garden. 

 

 

Muscoy celebrates International Walk to School & Clean Air Day

October 2nd was International Walk to School Day & Clean Air Day, and Muscoy celebrated both. Vermont Elementary school recieved a small microgrant from the Coalition for Clean Air to help support efforts to launch a walk to school day event and promote clean air stratgies in their school. Vermont Parents in Action and Safe Routes Partnership organized partners including Assemblymember Eloise Gomez Reyes, San Bernardino County Department of Public Works, San Bernardino County Public Health, San Bernardino City Police Department, Go Human and Alta Planning and Design.

Join Catholic Charities, Public Health Advocates, the Safe Routes Partnership and many others for monthly meetings of the Stockton Healthy Neighborhoods Collaborative (HNC). The Collaborative meets to discuss issues around planning, health, land use, and active transportation in the city of Stockton and the county of San Joaquin. Bay Area News: Contra Costa Opens Up General Plan

The National Partnership has recently attended several community meetings held by Conta Costa County to provide input on updates to the General Plan. The existing plan was adopted in 1991, nearly thirty years ago, and much has changed in the county since then.  This general plan update will be a comprehensive update with a draft available for comment and public input this summer.

SoCal News: SCAG Hosts Annual General Assembly & Traffic Safety Symposium

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) hosted their annual General Assembly on May 1st in Palm Desert, CA. Themed Beyond Boundaries, the conference drew representatives from 191 cities and six counties and included topics centered on micro mobility, technology opportunities from the green economy, and unleashing the power of data.

Central Valley News: Meet Up with Advocates and Agencies at the Stockton Active Transportation Network!

The Safe Routes Partnership is convening an Active Transportation Network in Stockton on a monthly basis as part of the Stockton Healthy Neighborhoods Collaborative. Please join us to meet others concerned about active transportation and share and receive information on best practices and policy issues that impact the health of families in the San Joaquin County area.
