We are proud to be founding members of the Getting There Together Coalitionand recently joined with other community leaders to analyze the recommended list of projects and put forward our own recommendations that lead with the values of equity, safety, affordability, and climate.

At their December 18 Task Force meeting, members voted to make recommendations to the Metro Council on projects to include, enhance, or remove for the T2020 measure. With the Task Force's recommendations, the region took a big step forward with many projects that will provide transportation options that work better for people of all ages, abilities, races, incomes, and backgrounds, including:

  • Enhanced transit investments in all funded corridors!
  • Increased funding for safety in 82nd Ave, TV Highway, McLoughlin, and Powell
  • Safety improvements on NE/SE 122nd, 162nd, and 181st, SW 185th, and Canyon Rd
  • Central City improvements
  • Albina Vision
  • Trolley Trail Bridge
  • Council Creek Trail
  • Hwy 212 Safety; Sunrise Planning & Design only

T2020 PROJECTS PUBLIC HEARING JANUARY 13

The next step in the process is for Metro Council to take up the recommendations. Mark your calendar and start preparing your 2-minute testimony on what you would or wouldn’t vote for in a regional transportation measure, and why we should only be including projects that provide affordable and accessible transportation options including transit and transit access, safety, trails, and bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure that will work for people of all ages and abilities. See you there!
