SB 1 funded a variety of new programs, and the California Transportation Commission (CTC) is having workshops to get input on the guidelines for two of these programs:

  1. The Congested Corridors Program funds a range of projects (including transit, biking and walking facilities) to give more transportation options. Any agency wanting to apply for the program must develop a Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor plan.  CTC has developed guidelines for these plans. Consider attending the workshop on Friday, September 14 from 10am-2pm in the LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, 3rd floor Metro Board room, 1 Gateway Plaza. Contact Laura.Pennebaker@catc.ca.gov for questions or for information on how to participate via phone or WebEx.

  1. SB 1 also dedicated $25 million for Sustainable Communities grants and $6 million for Adaptation Planning grants -- both of which help grant funds to local agencies to help them do regional transportation planning. Workshops are taking place on September 25 and 26 to get input on the final draft application guide. More details on the workshop locations and the draft application guide are on the Caltrans website.
