Apply for VDOT’s Non-Infrastructure Grants

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced another round of Non-Infrastructure Safe Routes to School grants for 2018! This one-of-a-kind program in our region provides funding and support to the work of the local Safe Routes to School Coordinators throughout the state. The online application system will open on February 7, 2018, and the deadline for applications is March 23, 2018.

TPB and BRTB approve $3.8 million in Transportation Alternatives Program projects in Maryland

The National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board (TPB) and the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board (BRTB) have approved nine new projects in Maryland to receive $3.8 million in funding under the federal Transportation Alternatives Program. Also known as Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside, this program provides federal capital funding to bicycle, pedestrian, recreational trail and Safe Routes to School projects. 

How Should the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board Spend $3B in Transportation Projects?

The BRTB is seeking your comments on its 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) by this Friday, June 23, 2017.

The 2018-2021 TIP lists the regional transportation projects requesting federal funding in the next four years. It includes more than $3 billion in proposed federal, state and local money for highway, transit, bicycle and pedestrian projects. The funding goes toward maintaining, operating and expanding the transportation system.

Virginians Get Your Application in for Safe Routes to School (Infrastructure) Funding!

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced a new round of Transportation Alternatives (TA) Set-Aside funding. This application cycle will include awards for both FY19 and FY20 allocations. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2017. Keep in in mind that if you don’t apply this year, you won’t have another chance until November 2019. Do not miss this opportunity to submit your application!
